NC might slash Medicaid dental services

Adults receiving dental services through the North Carolina Medicaid program could feel the bite of budget cuts, if a proposal included in a House subcommittee becomes law.

The proposal calls for a reduction of $15.9 million in the adult dental Medicaid budget for the 2009-10 fiscal year, which begins July 1. That cut increases to $20.1 billion in 2010-11. The figure represents about half of the total budget for the program.
