A Brooklyn dentist was accused of making a $125,000 killing through improper Medicaid billings, claiming he drilled patients for more than two dozen fillings in a single office visit on 97 separate occasions, according to an audit released Friday by the state comptroller's office. During one visit, Dr. Mohinder Mayell said he provided one patient with 52 fillings in a single sitting, the audit found _ a fairly impressive feat, given that the human mouth typically contains just 32 teeth. Mayell told investigators he did all the work that day in just two hours, the audit said. Read more
