Longs profit up in second quarter (Contra Costa Times)
Walnut Creek-based Longs Drug Stores Corp. (LGD) said Wednesday its second-quarter profit rose 14 percent on a 9.5 percent increase in revenue. For the quarter ended July 27, Longs earned $19 million, or 50 cents per share, compared with $16.7 million, or 43 cents per share, for the same quarter in 2006.
