Braun Oral B
One of the most reputable companies in oral hygiene, Oral-B has many levels of electric toothbrushes on the market. Their base models include the Oral-B AdvancePower 400 and 900, while their best ratings & reviews go to their Oral-B ProfessionalCare 5000 and 7000 Series.The Advance series is your basic cordless toothbrush. It does not have a timer, but rather a signal at the 2 minute mark. While these toothbrushes may get the job done, they certainly aren’t as ergonomically designed for comfort as the Sonicare brushes. The tradeoff is that the Braun Oral B electric toothbrushes are not relatively expensive.
Others
The Airsonic and Interplak electric toothbrushes are worth mentioning, but aren’t popular enough to warrant their own category. These toothbrushes are more of the ""barebones"" type, lacking all the bells and whistles commonly found in Oral-B and Sonicare products. But this lack of features does bring down their price cheaper than the other brands.Overall, any electric toothbrush is better than no electric toothbrush. While the best price for an electric toothbrush may be the Airsonic and Interplak, the best performing is the Sonicare without a doubt. Many surveys confirm that the dentist recommendation for the best electric toothbrush are Sonicare electric toothbrushes more than any other brand. In fact, more dentists themselves use Sonicare than any other.
A clinical study of electric toothbrushes proves that people brush longer with electric toothbrushes, which helps even more in cleaning the teeth. In addition, consumer reports of electric toothbrushes also show they prevent gum recession better than manual toothbrushes.
