Can the amount of Peroxide in Crest WhiteStrips Premium cause negative health effects?

By Rebecca Blain

When you are considering the risks associated with teeth whitening, there are several things that you must keep in mind. First, you must consider whether or not the amount of peroxide in Crest Whitestrips Premium and other whitening products can cause negative health effects. As the peroxide in these products are responsible for minor breaking down of the enamel on the teeth so each tooth can be bleached, there can be negative health effects. As you will read in any Crest White Strip review, there are unavoidable temporary effects.

As the amount of peroxide in Crest Whitestrips Premium is much higher than in other Crest products, you will need to be ready for the side effects associated with the tooth whitening process. This includes sore, aching teeth for the duration of the process, as well as some pain shortly after the process is completed.

Fortunately, there are products that are designed to make this a lot less of an inconvenience, so you will be able to have whiter teeth with minimal discomfort. One consideration that you will need to make is that the raised amount of peroxide in Crest Whitestrips Premium allows the process to be finished in a much shorter period of time. While this product does allow you to finish having a whiter smile in a shorter amount of time, this added convenience does come with the side effects associated with stronger tooth whitening products.

While recent studies on tooth whitening side effects are still unclear, there is some evidence that points to these products having a hand in causing a variety of different mouth cancers and other dental health associated issues. As long as you are careful and read the directions and warning labels carefully, you should be at a relatively low risk of having any problems associated with having whiter teeth.
